Powerslide Suzuki's Asher Durham took his first win of the season in the Pirelli National Sportbike Championship at Knockhill at the weekend, as the GSX-8R finished one-two in the third race of the weekend.
Durham's win came ahead of series leader Kas Beekmans on the VLR - NIWA Racing Suzuki GSX-8R, who finished second.
Beekmans' runner-up finish to Durham was his third second place finish of the weekend, which came after a run of four straight victories in the class.
Durham was also on the podium earlier in the weekend, finishing third in race one. He was fourth in race two. His results move him up to fourth in the championship standings.
Durham and Beekams were less than a second off the victory in race one, but Durham ran out the clear winner tricky conditions in the final race, taking victory by over three seconds.
"To be at round four and to have two podiums, one being a win, is a great indicator of how hard me and the team have been working and I'm so happy to repay the ream for their efforts," Durham commented afterwards. "Thank you to all involved, we’ll continue to try and keep this trajectory going."
Powerslide Suzuki team principal, Brad Clarke, added, "I always knew the capabilities of the bike and I know the capabilities of our riders and felt this result has always been possible. To get a third and a win by round four demonstrates this.
"I am so proud of Asher for bringing us our first podiums and win and equally Taylor [Moreton] who started this project with us. I believe this is just the start, and a massive thanks to all of our sponsors and supporters."
