Ken Roczen raced his Progressive Insurance Suzuki RM-Z450 to third at the weekend, making it two podium finishes from two in this year's AMA Supercross Championship.
Following his runner-up result in Anaheim last weekend, Roczen again won his heat race before battling for victory in the main event. Holding second in the early lap, Roczen eventually moved into the lead before the halfway stage. An intense battle followed, before Roczen again settled into the race lead.
In the closing stages he was again involved in a fight for the lead, eventually taking the chequered flag in third place, maintaining his consistent start to the year.
Roczen said afterwards, "We had a really good day overall. We were third in qualifying, we won our heat race, and we had an insane battle throughout the main event. The race leader and I went back and forth a couple of times. I led a bunch of laps in the beginning, and I ended up third, but not far off the leaders. I lacked just three to five percent. It's very minimal. Overall, we had a really good night. I'm not going to complain about a podium by any means, and we're looking forward to Anaheim 2."
