Ken Roczen's fourth place finish in the weekend's second round of the AMA Supercross Championship in San Diego continued his strong start to the season and keeps him in the top-three in the championship standings.

The German ace took a podium in his heat race aboard his Progressive Insurance Ecstar Suzuki RM-Z450, and launched out of the gate in the main event into second place.

He challenged for the lead, but eventually took the chequered flag in fourth, maintaining his solid start to the campaign.

"I think my race overall was really good. I was happy with it," Roczen said after the race. "Of course, there are always things you want to work on and try to get better. I’m staying in California this week and we’re going to work on a couple little things. We are in a good spot, we had a really good race, and I am happy with the fourth place."
