Powerslide Suzuki to make British Supersport debut at Donington

Powerslide Suzuki will make its British Supersport debut at Donington Park this weekend, entering Australian Cameron Swain aboard a GSX-R750.

The team is no stranger to the British Superbike paddock, having contested in Superstock and Superbike in the past and currently winning races in the National Sportbike Championship with GSX-8R machinery.

However, this weekend will be the team's first venture in the supersport category, a class which has seen an influx of GSX-R750 machinery, with one currently sitting second in the championship and only nine points off of the series lead.

Swain said, "I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity this weekend. The BSB is the paddock where you want to be to progress your career, and I feel with the Powerslide GSX-R750 we have the package to do that. I would like to thank my dad, sponsors, and all the supporters back home for helping me get this far."

Team manager Dave Tyson commented, "Cameron is someone I have been monitoring for some time now, and always thought that, should an opportunity arise and we could put a package together, then we would have a look. The GSX-R750 sits perfectly alongside our other Suzukis, and after a positive test feel that we can go to Donington and have a great round."

Team principal, Brad Clarke, added, "This is a great opportunity for Cameron, and also for Powerslide to enter the supersport category. This is the only major class Powerslide have not ran in, so I am excited to see what we and Cameron can do. Dave has been instrumental with the 8R's success this season, and I have no doubt he can do a great job with the 750."
