Ken Roczen raced to another podium finish and with it the AMA Supercross Championship points lead, at Anaheim 2 and the third round of the season.
The Progressive Insurance Ecstar Suzuki rider took a podium finish in his heat race, but exited the first turn of the main event in eighth place. From there he start his drive forwards through the field, climbing to third by the halfway stage.
In the closing laps he made the move for second, and though gaining on the leader, he was unable to close enough to challenge for the win. The result was a second podium of the year and saw climb from third to first in the standings.
"The whole main event was really rad. I am beyond stoked to be on the podium," said Roczen.
"We’ve been putting in a lot of work. We tried a few things this week, and everything we did at the weekend was a success. The work doesn’t stop, but I am going to enjoy the moment."
