GSX-8R takes two wins at Daytona 200

The GSX-8R won both Twins Cup races at the iconic Daytona 200, making it a perfect start to the season for the RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Suzuki squad.

 

Reigning Junior Cup champion Matthew Chapin was making his first appearance with the team, and it couldn't have gone any better for the young rider. Winning both races by less than a tenth of a second, he took the double at such the prestigious event to make it a 100% win record to start the season.

 

He commented afterwards, "I think my whole plan was just to be patient until the last lap let those guys fight it out at the front. I didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks; I knew I had the bike underneath me to do it. So I just used the draft at the end and got it done."
