Kas Beekmans returned from injury this weekend at Oulton Park, and immediately returned to podium form, finishing second on his VLR / NIWA Racing Suzuki 8R.

After missing two rounds following a crash in practice at Cadwell Park, Beekmans' return was in tricky conditions at the Cheshire circuit. However, he qualified fourth quickest before fighting for the race victory.

As part of a five-rider group at the front of the field, Beekmans - alongside fellow 8R pilot, Powerslide Suzuki's Asher Durham - fought for the race lead, which changed hands on multiple occasions.

Going into the final corner on the final lap Beekmans was in second place, while Durham dived to the inside, looking to go from third to the lead in one move.

Durham made the pass, but a fraction too much throttle on corner exit saw him crash out, while Beekmans took the runner-up spot in a photo finish.

The result sees Beekmans take a 51-point lead into the final round at Brands Hatch, while Durham's crash saw him relinquish second in the points standings, now sitting 18 adrift of the silver media spot in the championship.
