Kas Beekmans took another race win in the Pirelli National Sportbike Championship at the weekend, winning at Thruxton aboard his VLR/NIWA Racing Suzuki GSX-8R.
Beekmans won the first of two Sportbike races after the championship leader set the fastest time in qualifying. Just over a second covered the entire top five around the super-fast Thruxton layout, but Beekmans ensured he was in the right place at the right time to take another race victory.
On Sunday Beekmans finished second, but maintains a healthy championship lead of 77 points, with six wins to his name and a lowest finishing position of second.
After a strong run of results at Knockhill and Brands Hatch, Powerslide Suzuki's Asher Durham had a more up-and-down weekend at Thruxton.
Durham set the fourth fastest time in qualifying but unfortunately dropped out of contention in race one with three laps to go.
He rebounded and in race two he earned himself another podium finish for the season, finishing third, less than two tenths of a second behind Beekmans.
