Another podium for 8R and Durham at Cadwell Park

Asher Durham took another podium finish aboard his Powerslide Suzuki GSX-8R, finishing second at Cadwell Park over the bank holiday weekend.

Durham's run of recent form has seen him scoop podiums - including a win - at Knockhill, Brands Hatch, and Thruxton, before Cadwell Park.

Durham qualified on the second row of the grid, in sixth place, but was up to fourth by the end of the opening lap of the race. He was third a lap later, and second by the halfway stage.

Unfortunately, the race-leader had already pulled a gap at the front, and instead Durham's focus was on keeping the rest of the field behind him. At the chequered flag he crossed the line to take the runner-up spot, just under a second clear of third place.

Unfortunately, it was a weekend to forget for championship leader Kas Beekmans on the VLR/NIWA Racing Suzuki GSX-8R. A crash in in FP1 left the young Dutch rider unconscious.

He was discharged from hospital a day later after being kept under observation.
