8R and Durham on Donington podium

Asher Durham put his Powerslide Suzuki GSX-8R on the podium at Donington at the weekend, finishing second to climb into second place in the championship standings.

Durham qualified on the front row, in third place, but improved to cross the line in second after the 10-lap race. The points scored also saw him ascend to second in the championship standings, where he sits behind fellow 8R rider Kas Beekmans, who, despite missing the last two rounds through injury, maintains 47-point lead at the top of the table.

Despite an unfortunate qualifying with a technical issue, Taylor Moreton, on the second Powerslide Suzuki 8R, came from 32nd on the grid to take the chequered flag in 10th.

Durham said afterwards, "I was happy to come away with second place this weekend. We made some changes to the bike to give us a bit more top-end, but it cost us a little off the bottom, so we'll need to look at this and see if we can find a balance going forwards. But, to come away with P2 and P2 in the championship is better than we anticipated and is a good result. A massive well done to my teammate, Taylor, to come from 32nd on the grid to 10th shows how capable the bike 8R is."

Team principal Brad Clarke, added, "A massive well done to the whole team this weekend, everyone did an excellent and professional job. Asher really showed his class, despite some challenges, and Taylor again showed what he can do on race day and if we can put together a good qualifying time there is no reason not to have two Powerslide Suzukis on the podium in the future. "
