The 8T uses a 5-inch colour TFT display. Clearly legible high-quality information displays keep you fully aware of all the bike's systems and settings, and supply vital real-time operating status information. The tachometer doubles up as a programmable rpm indicator light that blinks when the engine reaches a pre-set speed, and adds a function that lets you display large pop-up alerts and reminder. Manual or automatic switching settings for the day (white) and night (black) display modes let you maximise visibility at any hour and in any riding situation.
The product concept behind the 8T is “Retro Spirit, Next Generation Performance.” It’s styling pays respectful homage to legendary Suzuki models of the past, capturing the look and feel of an authentic motorcycle. At the same time, it delivers a unique appeal by combining this classic presence with performance powered by Suzuki’s latest technology.
What defines a timeless motorcycle, one that truly captures the essence of riding? This question guided the design of the GSX-8T. Inspiration was drawn from legendary machines of the past, such as the Suzuki T500. Within their forms lay hints of the core spirit of motorcycling. By reinterpreting these classic motifs through a modern lens, the 8T’s distinctive styling was born.
The 8T features a fuel tank developed exclusively for this model and the 8TT, combining a rounded form with sharp corner radii to create a shape that beautifully reflects the setting sun. Close attention was paid to creating an ideal riding position with ample legroom and freedom, focusing on the overall form. In addition, by refining the finish of the welding seams, the designers achieved a tank that evokes the flowing lines of the classic Suzuki T500, with a beautifully sculpted form.
The 8T uses dedicated handlebar end mirrors, developed specifically to match the styling and proportions of the bike. The design was meticulously refined to ensure visual harmony with the overall silhouette. Special attention was paid to detail, including hand-polishing the parting lines and gate marks of the aluminium die-cast stays. The mirrors offer excellent rearward visibility by minimising interference from the rider’s body.
The mono-round headlight is inspired by the flat-bottom headlight design found on Suzuki models from the 1960s and 1970s. During development, extensive light distribution testing was conducted and fine-tuned repeatedly to achieve a bright and optically efficient headlight for Suzuki motorcycles.

The 8T is propelled by a 776cc DOHC 270° crank parallel twin engine focussed on dynamic performance. It delivers abundant torque for flexibility suited to a range of riders, paired with a powerful top end for an exciting and rewarding ride.
The HY battEliiy P-series starter battery represents a major innovation in motorcycle starter battery technology, offering numerous advantages over conventional lead-acid batteries. Developed by Eliiy Power using cutting-edge energy storage technology, the new P-series is not only more compact and lightweight but is designed with a focus on exceptional reliability, impressive durability, enhanced startability, and an extended lifespan with minimal self-discharge requirements.
Designed around the Suzuki twin engine and made from steel tube sections, the frame is engineered to provide excellent straight-line stability, contribute to agile handling, and perform well in the city as-well-as at highway speeds. The exposed subframe is designed to support the rider and contribute to the 8T’s slim appearance and stripped-down look. This sub-frame is a separate bolt on unit for a premium build and added practicality.
With a wheelbase that is longer than on a typical retro street bikes, this contributes to straight-line stability, while the overall chassis geometry provides agile handling and cornering performance. A priority of the geometry is to provide a comfortable riding position that effectively distributes weight to the front and rear. The twin engine benefits the geometry with its compact front-rear dimensions, allowing the positioning of the rider's hip to point well-forward. This in turn enables the rider to shift their weight toward the front and more easily control the 8T when negotiating tight corners.
310mm front brake discs and radially-mounted front calipers from Nissin mean strong braking power and predictable, progressive performance and lever feel. At the back sits a 240mm disc and a single-piston pin-slide caliper.
KYB inverted front forks with a 130mm stroke deliver a plush ride and feature stable damping characteristics that makes them suitable for a wide range of riding styles. The dedicated link-type mono-shock KYB rear suspension is set up to contribute to straight-line stability and agility, even when carrying a passenger.
The aluminium wheels feature a lightweight design that adds style and contribute to the handling and sporty performance. They are fitted with a Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres designed to perform optimally and provide consistent grip. The internal construction features a carcass and belt layer tuned to achieve the right level of rigidity to match the weight and performance characteristics of the 8T, and to deliver the right combination of agile handling and stability. Dunlop's proven tread pattern uses a silica compound that enhances positive grip in wet conditions and features durable wear resistance.
The 8T uses an attractive aluminium swingarm with a shape that is engineered to perform with the right amount of vertical, lateral, and torsional rigidity providing confident handling stability and greater ride comfort.
Inspired by seat designs from the 1960s and 70s, it has been reinterpreted using modern technology. The design emphasises heritage aesthetics and supports an ideal riding position. By optimising the shape of the front part of the seat, it improves ease of mounting and provides better reach to the ground on the motorcycle, giving riders greater confidence. The seat cushion uses high-density foam, ensuring comfort even during long rides.
