Single Tracker Motorcycles
A family dealership in South Cheshire since 1958.
In the winter of 1958, Bill Newis and his wife Barbara opened a shop selling and repairing cycles. In the following year, Raleigh produced its first cycle with an engine, the Moped, which they sold through their cycle outlets. This changed a young cycle shop into a young motorcycle shop.
In the 1960s, the Suzuki franchise was added. The 1970s saw Bill & Barbara joined by their son Philip and daughter Julie.
1979 saw a move to the present premises. Then in the late 1980s, Bill & Barbara retired and the business was taken over by Philip, Julie and Nigel, their son in law, who have now been joined by Nigel & Julie's son Daniel.
The business has been selling and servicing motorcycles in South Cheshire for 50 years in 2008. We would like to thank all our customers past & present who made this possible.
Dealer Q & A
with Bill Newis
Well between us I owned a GT125, Nigel owned a GT380, Dan owned a RG125 and Phil had a GT250.
We really were a Suzuki family, but not all at the same time!
Dan has a DRZ400sm, and a B-King also a DL650, V-Strom.
Nigel and I favour the GSX1250F or the DL650 AL2 from the demo fleet.
Dan says his B-King is the bees knees.
Nigel always says the Moto Guzzi Le Mans he had back in the day, but if he takes off his rose tinted glasses, he really enjoys riding the GSR750.
Dan is counting the days down to the DL1000 in 2014. Wishing his life away!
Nigel also has a thing for 'V' twins so this Demo should get lots of use!
Nigel has a few, from leaving the side stand down on the GT380 and not being able to turn left to an old side car combination spitting him off and carrying on without him on the bike, so he had to get up and chase after it.
Dan says coming off his RG125 in the rain and having to go home and tell Mum!
We believe the future is bright! This is because the recession has created a new generation of motorcyclists using mopeds and 125's for cheap transport. Therefore encouraging more future motorcyclists to enjoy motorcycling for years to come as a hobby.
The media coverage of motorcycling is also a good factor, now we have good coverage of the Moto GP and TT racing, as well as enthusiasts in film and TV showing people the fun of motorcycling.
Motorcycling is now more popular with ladies and more styling in clothing means they don't have to look macho.
Dealership has won several awards with Suzuki over the years; Phil won the technician of the Year in 1999, and was runner up in 2003. Nigel reached the final of the sales executive of the year in 2011.
This year we have been trading with suzuki for 47 years, but our proudest moment came when the customers voted us aftersales dealer of the year in 2011, with comments like;
'thanks again for excellent service, it has been many a year since I have dealt with such a friendly, helpful dealership'
'you always feel so welcome, have already recommended a friend'
'follow up was swift and efficient, hope to remain a customer of Suzuki and Single Tracker for many years to come'
'thankyou for making the whole buying experience very pleasant'
'excellent and friendly service, nothing is too much trouble'
'most impressed by the whole experience'
Nearly all the customers mention the 'tea' or the 'brew' which is always on the go!
To date between us we have 120 years of experience with Suzuki Motorcycles!
Most of the staff are part of the family, this relationship we extend to include our customers, to make us a family run business that does that little bit more. We listen to our customers.
