Our Company began trading in the 1960's with Denis Robinson and his Son, Stewart Robinson who is the current Managing Director. In 1972 we were very lucky to acquire the Suzuki franchise. It was apparent in the early days that parts were the way to go and Stewart purchased a few new bikes (T250's) and broke them for spares to kick start our parts business and then we started selling new parts, we soon became a distributer for Suzuki parts for what was then Heron Suzuki.
In 1977 we outgrow the premises in Albion Street and moved to Westwood Road in Broadstairs. Dennis and Stewart knew that we had to move with the times and with the vast stocks we had built up card files were becoming harder and harder to maintain so in 1984 we became computerised and have not looked back since.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF Robinsons Foundry
Stewart's Son Michael joined the family business in 1986 and with his A level in Computers he helped to bring all the systems even more up to date. By now we were beginning to run out of room in Westwood so Stewart and Michael set to work looking for larger premises and eventually in 1988 we found our current site at Broad Oak Road, Canterbury.
Sadly, in 1987 Dennis passed away leaving Stewart and Michael to run the business he had so proudly built up over the years.
In 1991 Stewart's Daughter Michelle also joined the business to help with the ever growing Suzuki Mail Order business.
In the many years that have passed since we have been expanding and moving with the times. Stewart has now taken a more behind the scenes role with Michael and Michelle running the business.
We still specialise in new Genuine Suzuki Parts ranging from early 1970's up to present day and have over 2 million pounds worth of stock, so much so that in 2009 we had a purchase another warehouse just to hold that vast quantity that has built up. Over the years we have won the coveted awards of Suzuki Owners Club dealer of the year and Suzuki After sales dealer of the year, plus we consistently reach the final of the Suzuki After sales Advisor and Technician of the year competition.
Not only do we run a dedicated Suzuki Mail order department but we also have a busy modern showroom in which we showcase the Suzuki road bike range along with offering a good selection of demonstrators.
