MXGP racer Nico Aubin will join Evgeny Bobryshev in the RFX Suzuki team for the remainder of the 2018 Arenacross series, starting this weekend at Birmingham's Genting arena.

The fast Frenchman is no stranger to success in the UK, winning the Red Bull Pro Nationals in 2012. As well as racing in in the MXGP championship with Amexio Suzuki, he also recently finished runner-up behind Cedric Soubeyras and ahead of SR75 World Team Suzuki's Thomas Ramette in the competitive French Supercross series.

The 29-year-old, who lives in Normandy, is fired-up to be returning to the UK and reckons he could upset some people and has a real chance to get on the AX podium.

He said, "I had planned to get a bit of free time in in the off-season, but I’m feeling good physically and I just really love racing. I decided I needed to continue riding and I was looking at my options when I took the call from RFX Suzuki. Sometimes things are just meant to be and here I am joining the team. Everybody is happy.

"I’m really excited to be joining Arenacross and returning to the UK where I have many friends. This is my first time racing the series, but I have heard so much about it. I know Bobby (Evgeny Bobryshev, RFX Suzuki) from our MXGP days, and I’ve raced against all the fast riders who are already in AX, so I know some of the tactics. I’ll have to quickly learn the tracks, but I believe I can get on the podium."
